“MacArthur Recruitment concentrate on listening to what we need, rather than telling us what they have.”

A chance meeting at a networking event has changed the way that a Lancaster construction company recruits new staff.
James Titterington, managing director of JT Construction, met the team from MacArthur Recruitment a couple of years ago.
His wife Michelle, who is company director and company secretary, said that JT had used recruitment companies in the past. “But it just didn’t work for us,” says Michelle.

“Now our company regularly recruits through MacArthur, including senior posts, as well as trades people on an ad hoc basis.”
They operate differently, Michelle says. “They are personable while being very professional and focussed. They concentrate on listening to what we need, rather than telling us what they have. There’s a lot of dialogue about our needs; they dig a lot deeper than we’ve ever known before.”

The association with MacArthur Recruitment has made the JT recruitment process more streamlined, says Michelle. And the 12 week cooling-off period after taking on a staff member, watching to make sure that things work out, has been a big benefit.

“We are very happy with MacArthur, comfortable with them. Their level of communication is excellent.”

Often referred to as the 'Thinking' builder by clients, JT are known to provide a considered and collaborative approach to each and every project. They take on all forms of building work and projects, including domestic, commercial and industrial, and they have a wealth of experience and expertise in new builds, conversions, extensions as well as building maintenance work.

“Our team works closely with clients throughout the entire project, keeping communication channels open and transparent so that each build receives a dedicated approach while working to agreed timescales and budgets.” So it’s critical that the staff they recruit are the very best, who are suited to their needs and their way or working.
“Ongoing training and development of staff is at the core of our business, allowing each member of the team to explore their full potential, embrace new technology and excel in their profession,” says Michelle.
“We pride ourselves on being customer focused, working in partnership with honesty and transparency from the offset through to project completion.”
Members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Master Builders, the team at JT are keen to develop their eco-credentials and are aiming to be involved with the planned Eden Project for Morecambe.
They are currently completing an exciting new modular living product which can be extended to meet changing housing needs.

And they are moving forward with confidence secure in the knowledge that when they need to find the right team members, MacArthur Recruitment will be there to help them.
